Our Story
Riverfest started as a vision which was given to a man in our community in early 2009. He wanted to see people meet Jesus Christ in a profound way, and he wanted to see churches work together as never before. Little did he know, God had been putting the same vision in the hearts of many others in our area. We represent dozens of churches from every part of Indian River County. We are setting aside racial, cultural and denominational barriers because together, we believe that we can share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a powerful way.
We are praying that what started small will soon include hundreds and even thousands. We are planning an event called Riverfest which will take place at the Indian River Fairgrounds on April 16th and 17th 2010, and we are very excited about it. However, we see Riverfest as much more than an event; we believe it is a movement of God.

Our Commitment to Biblical Truth
Riverfest understands that “All scripture is God-breathed…” (2 Timothy 3:16) Our lives are changed in the best way when we hear the Bible, and respond in faith. We are committed to upholding the truth of scripture in all that we do.

We salute the Rev. R.V. Brown and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association for their commitment to preaching the Gospel and standing for the truth of the Bible.

Our Commitment to Prayer
Riverfest began when people prayed. The Bible says “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from
heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14) This movement will grow and flourish as we continue to pray. Today, all around Indian River County, there are people praying for God to be glorified, for the church to be united, and for the Gospel to be preached in power.
Many of us are using a prayer guide called Seek God for the City . . waymakers link Every Monday at 6:30 p.m. there are folks gathering to pray for Riverfest at the Salvation Army in Vero Beach.Location Link

Our Commitment to the Church
A critical component of our mission is to strengthen and encourage the churches. We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the pastors of Indian River County, and we are committed to honoring and encouraging them for their sacrificial service to all of us.

Our Commitment to Student Ministry
We understand that it is an incredibly challenging time for middle and high school students. Now as ever, students need the hope that can be found only in Jesus Christ. In the same way that we are grateful for our pastors, we are just as grateful for our youth pastors. We are committed to encouraging and upholding youth pastors and youth leaders in their ministry to students. We understand that the needs of students are different than those of adults, so April 16, 2010 is dedicated to youth.
